24-year-old photographer Asher Svidensky recently traveled to west Mongolia with the intention of documenting the lives of traditional Kazakh eagle hunters, people who tame eagles for the purpose of hunting smaller animals.

With the traditions typically laying in the hands of the boys and the men, the biggest surprise throughout the journey was Svidensky’s discovery of a young eagle huntress, 13-year-old Ashol Pan, the daughter of an experienced eagle hunter. These stunning photographs symbolize the potential future of the eagle hunting tradition as it expands beyond a male-only practice.

fic where steve is having his morning run but sam is nowhere in sight so he just has to run on his own with no one to tease about how slow they are but then suddenly nyoooom “ON YOUR RIGHT” sam screams as he passes flying by and puSHES STEVE INTO THE FOUNTAIN

thatsabingo:

I kind of love the idea of Steve being bi. Like, when he was younger, he’d see a guy and think he was good looking, but he’d just stamp that down or chalk it up to being an artist and finding beauty in everything. Then he meets Peggy and he really likes her so he thinks of himself as “fixed”.

When he wakes up in our time he stumbles into learning about the different kinds of genders and sexual orientations and it just hits him like “Oh. I guess that explains it.” And after New York when things settle in to something like a routine and he actually has a chance to look around and Natasha starts on her mission to set him up, he starts to really accept and become okay with being attracted to men and women.

One day when they’re heading out on a mission, Natasha brings up another woman from SHIELD and Steve just goes “What about that guy who works in reception?” and he says it casually, but he’s really sort of nervous because she’s the first person he’s told. Natasha just pauses for a beat and looks at him before shaking her head “Kevin? No, he’s got a terrible hair cut. You can do better.” And after that she starts including guys in the people she suggests to him.

idk I just like that headcannon

A proposal to divide California into six states has received enough signatures to make the November 2016 ballot. Here’s how.

six californias

What.
This could actually happen.

Technically… maybe? So this will probably be on the ballot, but even if we Californians vote for the split the United States Congress would have to approve it and possibly the Supreme Court would have to rule on if it is constitutional. This would probably not happen cause it would be AMAZINGLY complicated with regards to how it would rearrange the House of Representatives and the Senate. (Cause every state gets two Senators and at least 1 person in the House of Representatives with additional being awarded due to population, so that’s 12 CA senators and at least 6 Representatives, all from a pretty damn liberal area!)
Then you’ve got all the problems of HOW IN THE FRICKING HELL WOULD THIS WORK. Cause you see, California is set up to function as a big state. We already have a water issue and this division would make those issues EVEN MORE HORRIBLE cause most of the water comes from the North / East and goes to the South / West, where the people live.
So after the water, you’ve got to figure out how the public universities would work, how jails would work and so on and so fourth. For example, one of the proposed Californians is essentially the Silicon Valley… and there isn’t a SINGLE PRISON there.
Oh and if this did happen it would create the richest state and poorest state in the United States. So yeah…
So yeah, technically this COULD happen… but it most likely won’t, cause of how problematic it would be.
